I fear that I have become irrelevant.
At least in a cyber-sense. My irrelevance comes from the fact that my last blog was posted on November 4th, almost 3 months ago. That's a quarter of a year!
As I look back, it was a busy day. My son David broke his arm on our church playground at around 5:00 pm. He took a gainer off the top of the slide. When things like this happen, the world at large (including blogs) gets tuned out. I didn't even know who was elected president that day until I was driving home from the hospital and turned on the radio.
David has since gone on to bigger and better things and was given a clean bill of health by his doctors earlier this month.
We live in a world that is changing - this is nothing new but the pace at which it is changing seems to have increased.

This phrase is not really new. It has been widely used since the advent of electronic games. My kids also use this term for when they're playing with each other. Like when they're playing with stuffed animals and one has to go do something. Kyla might tell David to "pause the game."
This strikes me as funny but it also means that they are growing up in a different world than I did.
David is just now grasping the fact that live television cannot be paused.
Okay, to be honest, our live television can't be paused. The technology is available

but I really don't want to take the time to explain that his dad is too cheap to buy a Tivo. I mean I never paused live television when I was a kid and I survived!
So my goal is to update the blog at least weekly. I could say that our website does include my weekly column under the news link on the front page (the latest Circuit Rider should always be available there in case you don't get yours). But I fear this is not quite the same.
So I'll try to be more relevant than irrelevant from now on!
